The yarrow routine here performs the actual eighteen-change procedure — divide the heap, set one aside, count both halves off by fours, three times for each line — so the classical odds (6 at 1/16, 7 at 5/16, 8 at 7/16, 9 at 3/16) arise from the counting rather than being imposed on it.
