Sage Medicine exists for one purpose: the preservation and correct transmission of the knowledge of the ancient physicians — the sages. The classical texts — the Nanjing, Suwen, Lingshu, the Shang Han Lun — record a complete system of medicine: a way of reading the body through pulse and palpation, of understanding constitution, and of treating the root rather than chasing symptoms.
This knowledge does not survive in books alone. It survives when it passes from teacher to student, hand to hand — as it passed from the classical teachers to their students, and as the sages intended. Without careful and correct transmission, the essence of the practice is lost within a generation.
The members' library gathers what we are translating and teaching: the source texts in English, the formula monographs of the Kampō tradition, the constitutional diagnostic framework, and the case records that show the system at work in a modern clinic. It grows continuously — new translations and clinical materials are released to members as they are completed.
“Return to the Classics, pursue facts, and possess a spirit of clinical experimentation.” — Yanagiya Sorei
Members can put questions directly to the transmitted teaching. Answers are drawn only from the translated corpus of the classical teachers — the formula monographs, constitutional framework, and case records — and cite their sources. It never answers beyond the material.
Example
“What distinguishes Lung deficiency with cold from Lung deficiency with heat in root treatment?”
→ In the cold pattern (虚寒, kyokan) the root is tonified at LU-9 and SP-3 to warm the middle; in the heat pattern (虚熱, kyonetsu) the same Lung deficiency is treated with attention to the heat sign, drawing on the Kampō correspondence. [source: Lung deficiency / meridian heat variants]

Included with enrolment in the Foundations Curriculum or Clinical Intensives program.
Open to practitioners with recognised training in acupuncture or East Asian medicine.

Structured online study in the classical framework — theory, pulse diagnosis, and the source texts. Open intake; study at your own pace with live sessions and recordings through the year.
Residential seminars in Europe where the tradition is transmitted needle to hand, hand to heart. Consolidated practicum, treatment protocols, and individual correction.
Both pathways are open to practitioners at any stage. The online Foundations Curriculum provides the conceptual grounding; intensives transmit the hands-on tradition. Most students pursue both in sequence. Full program details →
